A week in the life of the Stephensen's

All right you guys, our life is pretty boring, so somebody else better be posting something soon or you are going to get really tired of me!!

What has been going on? Let's see. Kaden has yet to play a baseball game, yet getting plenty of practice time in, since the weather is warm and dry during the week and rainy on the weekends! He is getting a little antsy and I kinda feel sorry for the fella that gets his first few pitches, 'cuz he is going to have a lot of frustration built up if he doesn't get to play soon! I will post pictures just as soon as he plays, which according to the weather forecast, won't be this Saturday either!

Jessica has just been going to school and working on her tan. Counting the days until summer!

On Tuesday, April 28th, Gary and I rode up to Uncle John's funeral. It was good to see everybody on the Walker side and visit with them. Gary didn't go to the Walker reunion last August and had a good time visiting with everybody he hasn't seen. I had a flashback of when we were little and mom talked to everybody she could visit with. It was great to see and talk with Uncle Mel and Aunt Marylyn. She is the very last sibling left and we hope she sticks around with us for a long time yet!

After the funeral, we went to where Whitney works at Uinta Golf and took her to lunch with us. We went to lunch at "Pei Wei." Also, she is the #1 salesperson for Uinta Golf in the state right now! Isn't that awesome!! Way to go Whitney!!!

That night was Lacee's dance recital. She did really well. It is fun to watch her.
That is about all that is going on with us. What's going on with everybody else!! :)

It's a Sun Shiny Day :)

Hello all! Steve, Kathy, Bobi, Sharlene and I had a good visit with the family at Uncle Van's funeral. It is nice to visit with everybody, but I wish we could get together to have fun and not at a funeral. Uncle Van's family had a great service for him. It was all Uncle Van to a tee!

The sun is shining in Delta today. I am so happy! We are working in the yard today, getting it ready for our new deck and cleaning up the leftover cement from the big cement pour on Friday. My lawn is dead in a few places where Scott and Kaden keep driving the backhoe and skid steer over it, but hopefully in a few months it will look awesome!

Bobi and Brendan came down on Friday night. We stayed up till midnight and then those two little kids of ours were up bright and early Saturday morning! No sleeping in for us. We had to charge Lacee's jeep up so they could go drive it all over the neighborhood. They had a little problem with taking turns driving, but it all worked out in the end and they are still the best of friends! :)

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, also! I survived the week and life is good!

In memory of Mom 10-3-28 ... 4-14-02

"They whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before. They are now wherever we are."

It has been 7 years ago today that we last got to talk to Mom. Seven years and it seems like just yesterday, but yet it also feels like it has been forever ago. I think of her everyday and I miss her. I think of her every spring when the lilacs are blooming and I think of her every time I go to fix potato salad and it doesn't quite taste like it's supposed too. I still can't get macaroni salad to taste like hers! I can't believe we didn't have her write down that recipe! What were we thinking?? I think of her everytime I see a green car like hers. And how she would go get her hair done every Friday at ten, no matter what! I wish I could do my hair and it would last a week! And I can't do a crossword puzzle or play solitaire without thinking of her. Oh, and remember her banana nut bread, lemon meringue pie and banana cream pie?

I love this picture of her. I think it is a very pretty picture of her. You sure can see where Shay comes from! Same eyes.

I hope she is looking down on us from heaven and is proud of her kids and grandkids. I hope her and Dad are keeping an eye on everybody and watching their grandkids excel in their activities, but I wish they were here in person to watch them!

I wish she was here to just talk to once in awhile. Sometimes you just need your mother's opinion about things and she sure had one about everything! I would have loved to talk to her about Barack Obama and hearing her arguing her side with Steve and Gary. She would have won ya know. :)

Sorry I'm just blabbing along, and as Bobi puts it, "Jodi is emotional again!" This week is going to be just one long emotional week for me, so bear with me everybody! I will get through it and be a whole new person next week :)

Our hearts go out to Uncle Van's family as they deal with his passing this week. I'm glad that Dad & Mom, Uncle Golden & Aunt Sal and Aunt Carole are finally letting him in to their club!

Finally.....

Lacee has finally learned to ride her bike without training wheels. We never thought this day would come, but yesterday she came in and told me to take off her training wheels so she could learn to ride without them. I told her that once we take them off, we weren't putting them back on if she fell off and she agreed. So the training wheels came off and off she went! I had her ride on the grass in case she fell so it wouldn't hurt so bad, but she did awesome and has even been venturing out into the road.

And guess what else? The daffodils are blooming!! Does this mean that spring is coming, along with warm weather? Let's hope so :)
