What a game!

This weekend Luke was chosen as the game MVP for an awesome play at first base! He was thrown the ball and he was able to tag first base before the runner. If you've ever watched a 5/6 year old t-ball game, you know good plays are hard to come by!
Luke was also given the game ball to take home. He was pretty excited, but not as much as Kevin and I were!

Weather in Utah

Guess what we got today?... Yes, more SNOW! About 3-4 inches. Of course, because we live in Utah, the weather has now changed and we can almost see sunshine! We went to breakfast this morning in a blizzard, by the time we were finished, it had stopped. Now it is melting! Even McKenna, the ski bum, is sick of the snow though! Maybe we'll get some sun in Mesquite!

The Best Place To Go Out And Eat Is.....

Last night, Scott, Gary, Sharlene and I drove to Marysvale, down by Big Rock Candy Mountain and went to this place called "Hoovers." WOW! It is our new favorite place to eat. If you didn't know about it, you would totally just drive right by because it looks like a shack, seriously, it has that corrugated metal on the side of the building! It was all you can eat seafood night :) Sharlene had the all you can eat crab legs and I had the all you can eat shrimp - Delicious! Except Sharlene is probably going to have to have carpel tunnel in her hands from having to crack those legs! Whoever discovered that there was meat in crab legs must have been really bored. Gary ordered the Ribeye Steak and Scott order the 12-oz Prime Rib and I'm not kidding about this but it was at least 2-1/2" thick. Really!!! And Scott orders all of his steaks medium well and it was even cooked perfect! He could of ordered a 24-oz Prime Rib, which we thought it would have probably taken up the whole plate. And he was glad he didn't because we were so stuffed by the time we were done. Oh, and the scones they brought out before your food got there - Delicious!!! They had shirts you could buy that said "Hoovers, not Hooters" and we tried to get the guys to buy one but they wouldn't - party poopers! So that's where all of you need to go one of these days!
Oh yeah, they have RV Parks and cabins you can rent and you can go ride four wheelers or go down the river, sounds like fun huh? Definitely putting that place on our list of places to go.

Yeah!!!! Jalen, McKenna and I passed Hunter's Education class today. Glad that is over! We all did well on both tests. McKenna even had a good time....except for the field dressing discussion, but I can't blame her!

Vote for Brendan!!!

We entered Brendan into this contest with a local radio station called Kiddieokee. You have your kid sing a 30 second song, video tape it, and post it onto their website. We had Brendan sing So What by Pink and it's really cute! Please vote for him because if he wins, we get this huge backyard playset that is really aweseome and he's really excited for! To vote for him, go to http://www.971zht.com/pages/kiddieokee/. He's entry number 42 in the 2-4 year old age group. You can vote once per computer. Voting ends at noon on April 2, so get out there and vote! Have all your friends and family vote for him too!
Thanks!! :-)

Spectrum 10K

So this weekend my friend Charmaine came down from Salt Lake to run in this race so I decided that I would do it with her at the last minute. I had not trained at all but like 3 days before I ran 3.5 miles so I was sure I could do it. That was the biggest mistake I've ever made. I got to the 2nd mile and thought there is no way I can run four and a half more miles without dying. I work for the city and they put on this race so I knew a lot of people that were working it and my friend Kelli was at the second mile making sure everyone was okay. Before I go on I should tell you that I didn't stretch before I ran either because we were running a little bit late so when we got there we had 1 minute till it started. So by the second mile I had the biggest cramp in my leg so I stopped and had my friend Kelli rub my calf so I could keep going even though I didn't want to anymore. I asked her if she could just take me back but she told me no so I had to finish.I made it to the first aide station which was on mile 3 and they had water and gatorade which I drank too much of and some gel energy shots which are not good at all. I thought I was for sure going to die but I just kept going because I knew everyone would be so disappointed if I didn't finish and I would be mad too because no one believed that I could do it. I was really starting to slow down by mile 4 though so I was walking and all the sudden this old grandpa passed me and I was so embarrassed. I thought "there is no way I am going to let this old man beat me even if he has been training his whole life." So I stepped it up and I passed him. When I reached mile 5 my friend Seth that I work with, jumped in with me and ran the rest of they way with me. That was so nice of him besides the fact that he wouldn't let me stop running and then when we got like 100 meters away from the finish line he made me sprint. All my friends were already there and they were all yelling my name, I felt like I just won the race or something. I will never do it again though without training. I was so sore the next day. I woke up to go to the bathroom and took 1 step and just layed back down. It was fun though. My friend took more pictures but I forgot to get them off her camera and this on is of me and seth crossing the finish line!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today would be Dad's 85th birthday. I remember five years ago, we had a birthday party for him over at the church with all the family. Uncle Roger came and they had a good visit. Dad must have got tired of us, because he left his party early and went home :)
I miss him. I miss seeing his little black truck driving around, making his rounds at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm everyday. I never know what is going on anymore, cuz Dad isn't here to keep me updated on the neighbors!
I wish my kids could have gotten to know him more. I think he would have enjoyed watching Kaden playing baseball and football. I know him and Lacee would have been good buddies and she would have him exploring everything with her when it was warm outside. She was only 9 months old when he died, but she knows from pictures who he was. She calls him Grandpa Gene.
Happy Birthday Dad!

Facebook

So what exactly is Facebook? Is it like My Space for adults or what? And what kind of stuff can you do on it? So far, I've added nine relatives and took a few quizzes. Life is good.

He's eight and feeling great!

Here's Durham on the day of his birthday party. We have a large park next door-the kids had a great time running all over, playing on the play scape and competing in party games and relay races. It was cold and very, very windy, but the sun was out and it turned into a beautiful day. Durham was very happy with his Jeff Gordon cake and all the Star Wars Lego sets he recieved.
The wind blew all the balloons from a game into the lake in the park which made it look very festive!
